CWS Filtro Ducha Shower Filter is primarily designed to reduce chlorine. It uses KDF-55 media that reduces chlorine, water-soluble heavy metals, THMs and scale.
KDF-55 is a carbon-based copper-zinc formula designed to remove chlorine and heavy metals. The copper and zinc in the media protect the carbon at high temperatures while the carbon is used to remove chlorine from the water.
The process medium received NSF International Certification and is certified by NSF to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 – Drinking Water Treatment Units – Aesthetic Effects.

The shower filter will not soften water in the way a water softener does, but it will remove chlorine and other chemical contaminants, making the water much less harsh and leaving your skin and hair feeling significantly softer.

Shower filters usually retain water pressure and have a rating for a specific pressure range (generally between 20-100 psi).
With a pressure of 40-80 psi, most shower filters can effectively filter water without reducing the water pressure. If your shower already has a pressure lower than 40 psi before installing a shower filter, likely, your shower will further lose pressure when you fix a shower filter.
